About Me

Before anything else, I am a daughter of the Most High God and a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Before I am a wife, mother, author, creative, encourager, or founder, I belong to God. Everything else is a title, talent, gift, or assignment He has entrusted to me.

For years, I didn't realize how much the trauma of my past was influencing the way I thought, responded, and lived. My turning point came after losing my mother in June 2016. In the depth of my grief, I desperately asked God to heal me.

I thought I was asking Him to heal my grief.

God showed me there was more that needed healing.

He began revealing wounds rooted in childhood trauma, misplaced identity, triggers, patterns, and beliefs I had carried into adulthood without realizing they were still ruling parts of my life.

That journey taught me what I now live and share:

Deal. Heal. Overcome.

Deal with the triggers by identifying the root.
Heal from what happened through forgiveness, repentance, surrender, and obedience.
And overcome through faith, biblical truth, and community.

I'm still growing and becoming, but I'm no longer building my life from the same broken places.

Today, through my testimony, creativity, and voice, I help women heal, grow, and build from truth—not trauma. That mission is also at the heart of The Overcomers Tribe, the Bible-based community I founded for women committed to real transformation.

I don't share every detail of my testimony everywhere. I share my story with wisdom and as the Holy Spirit leads. But I will always share enough for you to know:

Your past doesn't have to become the blueprint for your future.

I'm not here because I've arrived. I'm here because I've decided to keep surrendering, keep becoming, and keep building God's way.

And if you're becoming too, I'm glad you found me.

And I've finally learned that I don't have to.

For years, I thought becoming who God called me to be meant fitting into some version of who I thought I was supposed to be. But healing has given me the freedom to stop performing, stop comparing, and simply be the woman God created me to be.

I'm not super formal or polished all the time. I laugh loud, switch my hair up, take way too many selfies, and LOVE gospel music(no, like seriously lol). I love my family, I love encouraging people, and I can turn almost anything into a creative project.

I'm not caught up in designer labels or keeping up with every trend. Give me something cute, comfortable, and affordable and I'm GOOD lol! I can be serious about the things of God and still have a whole lot of personality.

I've learned that being set apart doesn't mean becoming somebody else. It means becoming more secure in who God created me to be.

I'm still growing. I'm still discovering new parts of myself. And I'm finally at a place where I don't feel the need to shrink, perform, or fit somebody else's mold to belong.

I'm Jelisha. I love God. I love people. I love creating. And I genuinely love the woman He's teaching me to become.

And that freedom is the freedom that I want everyone connected to me to experience too.
